Beware my pet monsters, here begins the Japanese long-black-haired ghost attack. Ringu was such a breath of fresh crypt air and brought a whole new kind of creepiness to horror fiends everywhere. You can get haunted just by playing a video tape. When it finally came out on video, I dubbed it over to blank tapes and handed them out to people that hadn't seen it. I told them I had found the tape somewhere and didn't know what was on it. Good times. So let's talk Bride of Chucky. Almost 20 years ago my wife and I got married in Vegas by a dude in a tracksuit underneath a Hojo (aka Howard Johnsons). The dude said he recently married Bon Jovi so that's cool. That evening we holed up in out hotel room and ordered pizza and chicken wings and Champagne from room service and The Bride of Chucky played on the TV. It was pretty perfect and we could not be more perfectly creepy for each other. Then we have a bunch of teens fighting creepy alien teachers while The Offspring plays in the soundtrack. Okay, I know that sounds like something I would pour gasoline on it and light it on fire but guess what? It's awesome. Super fun creature feature with a bunch of young actors we've grown to love.
