As I've said before, home invasion films scare the hell out of me because it's too real. One thing those invading bastards never seem to do though is see who the hell they are up against. Is it someone who will be terrified and possum up and curl into a ball or is it Kevin McCallister of Home Alone or Erin of You're Next? I mean yeah, I've researched the cost of bear traps and I live in the city, plus my browser history may contain websites about the best types snares and tripwires and whether or not hydrofluoric acid will melt the plastic of a kiddie pool so that should tell you something about me. Anyways... Ti West's Innkeepers seems to be a bit of a polarizing film. It only has a 5.4 rating on IMDB but an 80% on Rotten Tomatoes. I happen to love the film. Like his previous film, The House of the Devil I enjoy it thoroughly. The cast is charming if not slightly terrible people, the scares are super creepy, and I find myself watching it pretty repeatedly. Plus naked old contorted dead men freak me the fuck out. Lastly, we have the beautiful film about eerie little French vampire ballerinas. The visuals are stunning and spooky. Definitely something different for you to creep out to.
