The 2020 Candy and Corpses Horror Countdown

Do you love horror? No, not the real stuff that's suffocating us all on the daily. I'm talking about the good stuff. The films that keep you pinned to your couch while constantly checking behind you to make sure no one is there. So here's the drill (not currently being used as a murder weapon) Usually in the month of October I post about a horror film I'm watching for each day for the 31 days leading up to Halloween. This year, I've decided you all deserve more. You have mostly endured the year otherwise known as "The Year of Fuck You" so far and I want to fill your brains with more fun spooky junk than you can shake a stick at. So what the hell is happening you ask?

Not only are we starting on this day September 1st to get our Halloween on but every single day from today until Halloween I plan on providing you with the official Candy and Corpses best three films of the year from the year 1960 right up until 2020. That's six decades of horror films x3: totaling over 180 film reccomendations. That's a lot of creepy for you to enjoy. So enough babble. Let's get it on!

1960

1960 was a great year for horror. A couple of my all time favorite films graced this year.

1. Les Yeux Sans Visage aka Eyes Without a Face (Directed by Georges Franju) 

IMDB plot: A surgeon causes an accident which leaves his daughter disfigured, and goes to extremes to give her a new face.

2. Psycho (Directed by Alfred Hitchcock)

IMDB plot: A Phoenix secretary embezzles $40,000 from her employer's client, goes on the run, and checks into a remote motel run by a young man under the domination of his mother.

3. La Maschera del Demonio aka Black Sunday (Directed by Mario Bava)

IMDB plot: A vengeful witch and her fiendish servant return from the grave and begin a bloody campaign to possess the body of the witch's beautiful look-alike descendant, with only the girl's brother and a handsome doctor standing in her way.

If you haven't seen any of these films, I implore you to give them a watch. They are some of the best of the best. Damn 1960, you're going to be hard to beat. See you tomorrow for 1961 boils and ghouls. xoxo
