The Horrors of 1966.

1966 was a bit of sleepy horror year. Sleepy like a moody nightmare perhaps but never dull. Like the rest of the 60s, the scares were there. 1966 was ruled by Mario Bava and Hammer films. Dracula, little girl ghosts, zombies, and lizards teamed up to battle your boredom.

1966

1. Dracula: Prince of Darkness (Directed by Terence Fisher)
IMDB plot: Dracula is resurrected, preying on four unsuspecting visitors to his castle.

2. Operazione Paura aka Kill, Baby... Kill! (Directed by Mario Bava)
IMDB plot: A Carpathian village is haunted by the ghost of a murderous little girl, prompting a coroner and a medical student to uncover her secrets while a witch attempts to protect the villagers.

Okay for the third films I'm going to cheat and give you a Hammer double feature by the same director.
3. The Reptile & The Plague of the Zombies (both films directed by John Gilling)
The Reptile IMDB plot: In a Cornish village, various locals die from mysterious snake bites, but the coroner rules the deaths as heart attacks, until a family of newcomers starts an investigation.

The Plague of the Zombies IMDB plot: A medical professor (Andre Morell) and his daughter (Diane Clare) link a Cornish epidemic to a village squire's (John Carson) voodoo.

So there is my walking corpses. I hope you enjoyed my faves of 1966 and found yourself a new scare to watch. Tune in tomorrow for spooky 1967. xoxo
